START HERE: Faith Church During COVID-19 (Updated 3/31)

God is at work in and through Faith Church!

How do we know that, even in these uncertain times, Faith Church will continue to thrive? Because the church is NOT a building or a weekly event. The church is the people of God participating in the mission of God. Every follower of Jesus is a Spirit-empowered minister of the Gospel. So while we cannot currently GO to church, we continue to BE the church!

 More Than A Building FINAL

How might we continue to BE Faith Church even when we are unable to connect in person? We encourage each of you to ask God to help you consider the following questions:
  1. How am I pursuing spiritual growth and how can I spur others along in their relationship with Jesus?
  2. How can I avoid relational isolation and continue to enjoy fellowship with my church family?
  3. How can I live out my faith in my spheres of influence by being a conduit of God’s love and a proclaimer of the Good News of Jesus?

As we all ask God to help us adapt to being a church family while physically separated, here are some ideas and resources that we hope you will find helpful:

STAYING UP TO DATE

We will continue to share information on our website, our Facebook page and by sending out emails. However, we also highly recommend that you download the “Church Center App” (Apple Store / Google Play ) for your smartphone. That app will serve as an information hub with links to other resources.

Also, in order to relay information via phone call to those who are not frequent internet users, we could really use a team of people willing to make a few calls a week. If that’s you, please let us know – (503) 623-8034 or info@faithchurchdallas.org

WORSHIPING

We are NOT currently gathering in person on our campus. Therefore, our Sunday worship gathering is ONLINE ONLY. Click here for how to participate in our online worship gathering. If possible, please help others in our church family learn how to view the worship gathering. Here are some techy/streaming tips from Pastor Matt.

CONNECTING (Life Groups & Other Groups)

While we advise against continuing to meet together in person, we encourage you to stay connected with others! When face-to-face interaction is not possible, be creative and intentional about staying in touch with church family and with caring for and serving others. There’s always phone calls, texts, emails or snail mail. You may also want to consider online tools/apps like Google Hangouts, Facebook Messenger, Marco Polo, Facetime, Zoom, etc. Ask a tech-savvy friend for suggestions. There are many free options for messaging or video conferencing with other individuals or even with a group of people!  CLICK HERE for a video message on this topic from Pastor Derek & Amy

GIVING

One of the many ways we followers of Jesus express our thanks and worship to God for all that He has done for us is through our financial offerings. Even though we are not gathering together on Sundays, Faith Church still depends on the generosity of our church family in order to meet our financial commitments… bills need to be paid and our staff and missionaries depend on church support. Thank you in advance for your continued, generous and cheerful giving! You can click here for various ways to give online OR mail your offering check to the church office. And here is a VIDEO of Pastor Derek answering a related question.

GROWING

Our hearts and minds could be influenced by lots of "noise" these days. In the midst of the chaos, let's make sure that we are spending time with God! "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:7  If you are not already in the habit of frequent Bible reading and prayer, now is a good time to start! The YouVersion Bible app offers Bible reading plans and ways to connect/share prayer requests with friends. CLICK HERE for a related video message from Pastor Derek.

PRAYING

Please be praying for our church family, community and world. If you are in need of prayer, reach out to Christians you are close to or your Life Group. You are also welcome to submit your prayer request here.

DO YOU HAVE A NEED?

If you have a compromised immune system or are among the at-risk populations, we encourage you to reach out for help as needed. Need someone to run an errand, deliver groceries or assist you in some other way? We suggest that you reach out to Christians you are close to or your Life Group. You can also let the church office know and, if possible, we will connect you with those who are available to help (see below) - (503) 623-8034 or info@faithchurchdallas.org

CAN YOU HELP?

Are you available to assist the at-risk and health-compromised in our church family? Do you have extra food/supplies, you would be willing to share with those in need? In this VIDEO, Pastor Derek & Amy describe an increasing need that creates an opportunity to serve. If you are willing and available for us to connect you with someone in need, please contact the church office - (503) 623-8034 or info@faithchurchdallas.org

FOR CHILDREN

We are offering a daily connection with kids through video conversations, stories and simple interaction. To receive updates, please email debbie@faithchurchdallas.org
