Faith Church is an Evangelical Free Church (EFCA) located in Dallas, Oregon

General Job Description

This Pastor’s primary role will be to oversee all aspects of our student ministry, developing a fun, safe, caring & Gospel-centered environment where students are encouraged to become fully devoted followers of Jesus. This man will shepherd our junior high and high school students (6-12th grade) toward being disciples who make disciples, reach out to other students who don’t yet know Jesus, build/equip student ministry volunteer teams, and teach Biblical truth in an accessible way. In addition, and based on giftedness, he will assist in our church’s broader disciple-making efforts by providing leadership to other ministry areas as assigned by the Lead Pastor. This pastor will work in coordination with the staff and elder teams in promoting/ implementing the vision of Faith Church, seeking to integrate students and their families into the life of the wider church family.

Qualifications

  • Vibrant, consistent, growing personal faith in and dependency on Jesus Christ.
  • Meets the Biblical qualifications of an elder.
  • Proven “beyond reproach” reputation and lifestyle inside and outside the Body of Christ.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with vocational student ministry experience that includes volunteer recruitment/training and administrative responsibilities.
  • Preference may also be given to those with education/degree in related areas.
  • Whole-hearted agreement with the doctrinal statement and distinctives of the EFCA (efca.org).
  • Already credentialed by the EFCA or commitment to becoming credentialed within 24 months.
  • Must be committed to working alongside the other leaders and within the mission, values and philosophical framework of Faith Church.

Compensation

Full-time position – Salary range $40,000 – 60,000 (TBD based on experience/qualifications)

Benefits: paid vacation, retirement(5%), life insurance, expense reimbursement, FCS tuition remission

Specific Expectations

Spiritual Life & Growth – Continue to grow in a grace-filled relationship with Jesus, practicing the classical spiritual disciplines of the Christian faith (daily Bible reading, prayer, service, solitude, worship, etc.) and walking in obedience to Him.  Bring glory to God in all you are and all you do.

Student Ministry Calendar – Sunday and mid-week student ministry gatherings.  Monthly fellowship/ outreach events.  Weekly contact time with students.  Schedule seasonal retreat/camp opportunities.

Outward-focused ministry – Lead, model and equip students in being conduits of God’s love and proclaimers of the Good News to their peers.  Carry out ministries of compassion in our community and stir student hearts toward ministry to the unreached people of God’s world.

Communication - Communicate clearly, appropriately and professionally with students and parents.  Communicate openly, honestly and consistently with the staff team.  Maintain regular weekly office hours in order to connect/communicate with staff team.

Develop student leaders / adult volunteers – Recruit, develop, nurture and equip student leadership teams and adult volunteer ministry teams.

Staff Expectations – Full participation in the wider life of our church family including weekly attendance in Sunday worship & a Gospel Community. Attend staff meetings.  Follow established policies for safety, discipline, staff/student relationships, facility use, etc. Support of Faith Christian School: serving when possible, attending special events, connecting with students/families.

Administration – Carefully plan, coordinate, organize and manage details of the student ministry program.  Maintain records, calendars, contact lists, etc. 

Professional Growth -  Look for and utilize ongoing education opportunities such as ministry classes, seminars, and conferences.  Connect & team with other area youth workers.

Supervision – Meet weekly with supervising pastor to work together on planning, strategizing, problem-solving and prayerfully seeking God’s guidance.  Grow in a personal, open, honest relationship with supervising pastor.  Participate in regular ministry/job reviews: 4X first year, then 2X years following.
