Weekly Update!
JOIN US SUNDAY at 10:15 — This Sunday, we will start our second week of Advent, "joy." We will also spend time thanking God for all he is and all he has done for us, and enjoying our children sing to us!. As you prepare your hearts for Sunday, here are a few questions that you and your family can discuss together.
Adults, How have you seen God’s faithfulness this year? What Bible verse helped you recently? How has the church encouraged you? What hard thing has God helped you through?
Kids, Who is someone God gave you that you love? What is your favorite thing God made? How did God help you this week?
UPCOMING ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING — Official Members of Faith Church should have received a copy of the 2026 Proposed Budget. If you have not, please contact the church office. Our Annual Congregational Meeting will be held after the Worship Gathering on December 7th and it will include the opportunity to vote in regard to the proposed budget.
UPCOMING CHANGES TO THE ELDER TEAM - During our upcoming Annual Meeting, official members of Faith Church will vote to elect Elders to our leadership team. In preparation for that, we want to update you about the potential changes to the team. The Elder Team is thrilled to announce and highly recommend that the following three men be elected to serve as Elders - Darand Davies and Steven Schilling for reelection to their second, third year term, and Keegan McMurry for his first three year term.
CHRISTMAS MOVIE NIGHT! – We’re looking forward to a fun, festive evening enjoying a family friendly Christmas movie in our coziest Christmas jammies on December 5th at 6:30pm. Come join us, and invite your friends!! Our heart behind this movie night is to be a simple gift to our community - a chance for friends, neighbors, and families to come enjoy a fun evening together and promote a welcoming atmosphere in order to build connection. Let's share the love of Christ through popcorn, hot chocolate, and hospitality in hopes that our friends return to us when they are ready to go deeper in their personal faith!
COME AND BE FILLED - As you get ready to join us on Sunday, make sure you prepare your hearts to be filled with the living water of Jesus, AND be sure to bring your refillable water bottle to fill up at our new drinking fountain! You can find it in the hallway going past the church office heading down towards the nursery. This will help us reduce our need for single use, plastic water bottles. So bring your Bible, and your Stanley, Hydroflask, Yeti, or whatever you use and come and be filled!
CHRISTMAS CHEER - Our church family has a fun oppor-TUNA-ty to continue our support of Christmas Cheer! As we work together to feed families in Polk County, we will be collecting cans of tuna, chicken, and salmon through Sunday, December 21st. If you also have any cans of unexpired food you aren't planning or able to use, you are welcome to bring that, too. If you are able, will you please consider donating a few cans of food to help MEAT the needs of hungry people? Food boxes will be delivered on Christmas Eve morning. If you would like to help pack food boxes, please join us on Christmas Eve morning, 6:00 am at Polk County Fairgrounds. If you or someone you know could use some extra food this year, please sign up here or ask the church office for more information. Visit dallaschristmascheer.com to learn more about this generous organization.
PLEASE HELP US BE GOOD HOSTS - Are you willing to sit closer to the front and in the middle of the rows during the worship gathering on Sundays? Especially as the holidays approach, we would appreciate your help leaving open rows and chairs towards the back and on the aisles for our guests or latecomers. Thank you!
WEDNESDAY MORNING PLAYGROUP – Starting November 12th and continuing every Wednesday from 9-11AM, we will open our church to families with small children to have a dry, cozy, safe indoor play area while adults enjoy a handcrafted drink from our baristas. Drop in or stay for the whole time!
YEAR-END GENEROSITY – As 2025 winds down, we want to provide an opportunity for those who would like to donate to Faith Church above and beyond your usual, generous and ongoing offerings. Your year-end tax-deductible gift will go to:
- Church Family - support infant & children's ministry
- Local Generosity - support outreach efforts that show God's love to our community and enable generous response to needs in our church family and community
- Global Missions - bless and encourage each of our missionary families along with PNW District staff with a financial Christmas gift
Ways to Give: Through our Church Center App, or in-person boxes on Sunday mornings. Be sure to select the fund, “Special Year End” online, or write it in the memo line of your check.
