Our Newest Staff Team Members!

This past Sunday, Pastor Derek announced the hiring of two new staff people! Sarah Russell will serve as our Office Coordinator and Stephanie Earhart is the new bookkeeper. Be sure to welcome them when you see them next! And please join us in thanking our outgoing Office Manager, Lynette Geiger, and outgoing bookkeeper, Jill Wyatt, for their excellent work on our staff team in recent years.

Worship Pastor Search Process Update

The search team is excited to report that God has helped them narrow the search down to the point where they are now focusing on one potential candidate. Join us in praying for God's continued guidance as they finalize the last interviews, reference checks and background check. Once the search team has a recommendation, the candidate will be presented to the elders. If the elders affirm the search team's recommendation, we will soon communicate to you, the whole church family, about when you will get to meet, get to know and eventually vote in regard to the search team's recommendation.

What is Ordination?

You may have seen on the church calendar that September 9th is Pastor Derek's ordination. Faith Church is part of an association of like-minded churches all across the country called the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) and Derek has been a licensed minister in the EFCA for the past 5+ years. Ordination is the next step for pastors, the conferring of a lifelong ministry credential. From the EFCA website: "Those credentialed in the EFCA have been approved by a local EFCA church, a district council and the national Board of Ministerial Standing in the areas of calling, character and biblical/theological capacity (rooted in our Statement of Faith)."
