Current Plans in Response to the Coronvirus Situation

Dear Faith Church family,

In response to the developing Coronavirus pandemic, it is our desire to honor God and do our part in protecting the health of our church family and community. Therefore, Faith Church staff and elders are reviewing the latest information and government recommendations and prayerfully seeking God’s guidance.

As of today, though subject to change, our plan is to continue offering our 10:15am worship gathering each Sunday. We are able to do so because our typical worship gathering attendance does not exceed Oregon’s ban on gatherings larger than 250 people. But we also recognize and support that staying home from church will be the best decision for some of you, especially if you are in a vulnerable or high-risk health category.

Please continue to read below for more important information related to this decision and our current responses. And please stay tuned for potential updates/changes in the coming days and weeks as we monitor the rapidly changing situation.

We believe this is a time to trust God, knowing that nothing is out of His loving hands. We know that we can live by faith and need not fear, that we have hope for the future and need not panic. Therefore, even in these uncertain times, we desire to continue helping people grow in their love for God by continuing, if possible, to gather as a church family for worship and the study of God’s Word.

At the same time, we want to be intentional and responsible in showing love for others by responding in practical and helpful ways that do our part in slowing the spread of the virus, reducing strain on the health care system, and prioritizing the health of people in our church family, community, and world.

Steps we are taking to create a safe, healthy environment at church:

  • Evaluating our current cleaning routine and working to increase the frequency of disinfecting high-touch surfaces such as light switches and door knobs.
  • Suspending Sunday morning coffee and snack service.
  • Receiving offering in boxes by the doors instead of passing offering bags.

We ask that you help by:

  • Staying home if you are sick (or coming down with something)
  • Avoiding close contact with people who are sick
  • Maintain appropriate distance between yourself and others
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then discard the tissue
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds
  • Minimizing unnecessary contact – handshakes, hugs, etc.

Other Upcoming Events:

March 13th Worship Night - POSTPONED

March 14th Women's Even - POSTPONED

As we continue to evaluate other upcoming church events in light of changing conditions, we will send out email updates if possible and you can check for updates on our Facebook page or the blog on our website – www.faithchurchdallas.org

Let’s be praying for all those impacted by this global concern and for those working to help and serve. And let’s be asking ourselves… How can we show the love of Christ to those around us during this crisis?

With love in Jesus,

The Faith Church staff & elders
